The Tata Indica is the most powerful of the current lot of small petrol cars in India. The 'in-line' 4 cylinder 1.4 litre engine generates a maximum power of 60 bhp @ 5000 rpm. The fuel delivery is carburetted twin barrel, with a mechanical fuel-pump.The front-suspension is Independent, Wishbone type with McPherson strut and anti-roll bar and the rear is Independent semi-trailing arm with coil-spring mounted on hydraulic shock absorbers. Brakes are disc-type in the front and drum in the rear, with dual and diagonally split circuits, vacuum assisted with PCR valves.Conceived by the Italian design house I.DE.A., the tear-drop headlights and bison tail lamps are unique.
