WOCCU's main activity is microfinance, which provides modest savings programmes for low-income businesses. Its priority is to establish and modernise credit union systems. African Reserve Bank Description: The South African Reserve Bank was set up in 1914 as a "direct result of the disruption caused by the First World War." The website includes a detailed section about the Bank, its functions and historical development. Nederlandsche Bank Description: This website gives an introduction to De Nederlandsche Bank (The Bank of the Netherlands). Available on this site are statistics for monetary and financial developments, balance of payments, capital market, interest and exchange rates for the Netherlands. (International Securities Market Association) Centre Description: Based at the University of Reading the ISMA (International Securities Market Association) Centre, which opened in 1998, is a business school for financial markets. It is "unique in Europe in being a university institute founded by the trade association which represents virtually all the international banks and securities and investment houses in the world... It was set up specifically to help provide the trained people needed by the global investment banking and investment management industries." As well as offering its own professional certification the Centre provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and short courses.
