  • Tea is well known for its reviving properties. One of the best remedies for tired eyes is to lie down for 15 minutes with a cold used tea bag or a slice of cucumber on each eye. The tannin in the tea bag or the cooling juice of the cucumber will soothe and brighten your eyes. For puffy eyes, choose sachets of a herb tea, like camomile.
  • Another swift solution to the problem of puffy eyelids is to soak two pieces of cotton wool in some milk, icy cold from the fridge. Flatten the cotton wool into pads to fit the shape of your eyes and place on closed lids. Using a piece of cotton wool, dab the eyes with the tea for two or three minutes. Finish off with a good splash of cold water
  • Potatoes and applies. Raw potato helps soothe tired eyes. Cut two slices from a fairly large potato and then lie down and relax for five minutes, placing the slices over your closed eyes. Apple is also said to help fade circles under the eyes. Cut two generous slices and apply to closed eyes while you lie back for five minutes or so.
