Yes, it's about to be that time of year again, when every nook & corner of the Prithvi Theatre reverberates with the excited calls of children - 'SUMMERTIME AT PRITHVI THEATRE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN' is about to launch.

An interesting and diverse array of 22 workshops will be conducted by professionals at the Prithvi Theatre, Y. B. Chavan Centre & the Horniman Circle Garden. This will be the first time Prithvi's summertime workshops will be held in the southern part of town.

Over the past 10 years we have faced mounting pressure from children and parents alike to move closer to their homes - and we do hope that in the years to come we manage to more northwards and eastward through this busy city of ours. Taking theatre to children's doorsteps and schools.

One of our primary aims is to offer schools interesting programme ranging from workshops for children, teacher training programmes, productions with the children, shows for the children etc. In the hope to imbibe or perhaps even revive (!) the children's love and respect for the live performing arts and culture of our nation.

But, to get back from the future to the present here is what these workshops have to offer :-

• This year in addition to theatre workshops we move into the realm of art - with a wonderfully colourful choice of creative workshops.
  
• We cater to the ages of 6 to 16.
  
• The Scholastic Book Fair will be on during the holidays
  
• The Y. B. Chavan Centre (our collaborator) will be hosting children's film shows every Sunday at 10:30am during the holidays
  
• There will be a children's computer graphic art exhibition (from Baroda) at the Prithvi Gallery from the 21st May to the 18th June with demonstrations on the computer every weekend during the exhibition.
  
• There will be a host of plays for children during the entire holiday period at 11 am, at Prithvi - all participants of the workshops get a membership
  card which enable them to see these plays, and more, FREE for a period of one year!
