Written By George Bernard Shaw, this is one of his most popular and controversial plays. In this highly charged drama, Morell, a political academic parson is on the short side of a romantic triangle. His irrestibly charming and beautiful wife Candida finds herself in the position of choosing between her husband and Eugene Marchbanks, a young poet who is in love with her. At times serious and touching, and peppered with highly comic scenes, Shaw's uncharacteristically romantic play tests the boundaries of individuals' expected roles within a marriage and, to a larger extent, within society.
