In order to examine the role of India in the next millennium it is necessary to examine the horoscope of India and planetary position on January 1st 2000.
India is ruled by Lagna Capricorn. Chart 1 above shows the planetary position as exists on January 1st 2000. Chart 2 shows the Navamsa, which indicates the strength of the planets. Saturn, the lord of Lagna and the 2nd house is deposited in the 4th house in conjunction with Jupiter, lord of 3rd and 12th houses. Jupiter and Saturn are aspecting the 10th house. The Moon, lord of the 7th house, is deposited in 7th house, mutually aspecting Saturn and Jupiter. The planet Moon is queen and in astrology is significator of mother. It is feminine planet and nourishing mother. She governs chastity as well as fertility. She is the daughter of Leo and Zeus and the Greeks call her Armetus. It is said that Sun gives the spirit and life to all planets and the Moon rules the life of beings on Earth. The combination of Jupiter, lord of 3rd and 12th houses and Saturn, lord of 1st and 2nd houses in 4th house indicates that subjects ruled by 4th house that is, educational institution, house building, general happiness, trade and agriculture will flourish as Jupiter is benefic and is called guru or teacher and represents education. It indicates India will carve out a niche position in the next millennium in international relations, economic growth and by enacting measures for promoting public health, educational institutions and improving the condition of people for better quality of life. Since Venus is in 11th house measures will be taken to boost agriculture and its products and India will not only be self sufficient but will also export products to other countries.
It is interesting to know that names of kings who ruled India for long periods start with letter "A" viz Ashoka, Akbar, Aurangzeb and Atal Bihari. Letter "A" according to Indian astrology denotes Aries rashi. Letter "J" indicates Capricorn rashi and persons whose names start with letter "J" such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Jahangir also ruled India for a long period and during their reign India made great progress.
In conclusion, I foresee India emerging as a powerful nation in the next millennium with affluence and prosperity all round and will regain the glory which it commanded in the past during the reign of Mauryas and Gupta Dynasties.

Excerpt from the report "ASIA-2025" study - a 147 page study by the US undersecretary of defense (policy) is given below:-

The United States of America uses its B-2 bombers in the year 2012 to launch conventional air strikes to destroy Pakistani nuclear facilities in a bid to prevent the nukes from falling into wrong hands. The extraordinary US action follows an unsuccessful Indian conventional attack on Pakistani nukes, and a retaliatory Pakistani nuclear strike against Indian border. This sparks the disintegration and disappearance of Pakistan and creation of expanded Indian confederation or super state."
Rand Corparation's Ashley Tellis, one of the top 15 American policy maker who took part in the study told OUTLOOK: " These are long range perspective studies. Their chief virtue is that they help policy makers to think about alternative futures which would otherwise escape them under day to day pressures".
An Asian diplomat in Bangkok has said,"the remarkable thing is that India has become such a major factor in US Defense policy making .The nuclear test by the Vajpayee government coupled with India's emergence as a global IT superpower are bound to lead, sooner or later, to a radical rethink on US defense alliance. What this means is that the US will soon see India as a partner of choice ".
I had written the above article in the first week of November'99 and it was published in "NATIONAL HERALD" dated 19/12/99 much before the meeting of Mr. Bill Clinton with Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 23/3/2000 when the vision statement was signed by the two leaders. I had written in my article that "...the planet Saturn and sign Libra indicates west. It, therefore, indicates that India will develop very close and cordial relations with major western countries particularly with USA, FRANCE and ENGLAND". In concluding Para I had said "..in conclusion, I foresee India emerging as powerful nation in the next millennium with affluence and prosperity............and regain the glory it commanded in the past during the reign of Mauryas and Guptas' dynasties."
Is any other evidence required to prove that the stars do play a dominating role in shaping destinies of not only human beings but also of the nations too. The tilt in American policy proves the accuracy of astrological predictions beyond doubt.
